I firmly believe we need to rethink the purpose of money in politics and political campaigns. We must increase scrutiny and accountability of campaign financial disclosures, restrict campaign donations both in terms of who can donate and how much they can donate, and more importantly, require a percentage of all donations to serve local communities and the public interest.
